CEA Festival

CEA will hold its first Annual Festival in February—Wednesday the 22nd and Thursday the 23rd—with two days of fun and learning! Join us in our efforts to protect the beautiful Akumal area with environmental education activities, music, cultural events, arts and crafts and a Gala dinner! Please stop by the Center when you are in Akumal for an updated events schedule and to get your Gala Dinner tickets.

Wednesday, February 22

  • 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM Yoga Class at the Yoga Salon above Las Casitas Reception at the arch. Cost: $15.00.
  • 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM Welcome and coffee at the CEA Center. A great time to come sign up for the days' events. Cost: Free.
  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Sand Sculptures on Akumal Bay Beach. Cost: Donations accepted for CEA
  • 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Snorkel Tour, starts at the CEA Center. Cost: To be announced, equipment rental extra.
  • 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Arts and Crafts, Face Painting and Henna Tattoos, at the CEA Center. Cost: Varies.
  • 11:00 AM - 11:15 AM Drumming at the Ukana stage. Get a taste of what is ahead for drumming lessons. Cost: Free.
  • 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM Puppet Show at the Ukana stage and Salsa Lessons at the Yoga Salon above Las Casitas Reception at the arch. Cost: Donations accepted for CEA.
  • Noon - 3:00 PM Special lunch at Turtle Bay Café and Bakery - Price and menu to be announced.
  • 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Folkloric Dance at the Ukana stage. Cost: Donations accepted for CEA.
  • 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Environmental Presentation at the CEA Center.
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Drum Rhythm Lessons at the Ukana stage. Cost: Free.
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Night Snorkel Tour, starts at the CEA Center. Cost: To be announced, equipment rental extra.
  • 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM Imelda's Maya Buffet with dance show. Cost: To be announced. Reservations required.
  • 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM Salsa Party at the CEA Center. Try out those Latin dance moves and join us for a fun night of dancing. BYOB. Cost: Free.

Thursday, February 23
  • 6:00 AM - 8:00 AM Birding Tour with Miguel. The tour will begin at the CEA Center. Cost: $200 pesos.
  • 7:30 AM - 9:30 AM Coastal Walk and Beach Clean-up with Lucy, starts at the CEA Center. Cost: Donations accepted for CEA.
  • 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Arts and Crafts, Face Painting and Henna Tattoos, at the CEA Center. Cost: Varies.
  • 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM Brunch with CEA Talk at Imelda's next to the CEA Center. Cost to be determined.
  • Noon - 3:00 PM Music (pending) at the Ukana stage. Cost: Donations to CEA accepted.
  • 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Happy Hour at Lol-Ha Beach Bar and Puppet Show. Cost: Fixed, to be announced.
  • 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Silent Auction. Fundraiser for CEA at Lol-Ha. Great things to bid on, such as: 1 week at a condo on Half Moon Bay, 4 nights at Hotel Akumal Caribe, and more. Cost: Bid as much as you want to pay.
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM GALA EVENT. Dinner, Nature Slide Presentation and Folkloric Dance show, at Lol-Ha Restaurant. Reservations recommended. Cost: $45.00, with a portion of the proceeds going to CEA.
  • 9:00 PM - 10:00 PM Drumming and Rhythm Performance at the Ukana stage. Cost: Donations to CEA accepted.
