Macduff Everton Photo Exhibition Helps Celebrate World Water Day
CEA is delighted to receive an exhibition of the photographer Macduff Everton. It will be shown in the CEA Center, to help celebrate World Water Day on March 22.
Everton's autobiography:
"I first visited Yucatán in 1967. I returned in 1969 with the idea of spending several months documenting the living Maya in the style of the Life magazine 'Day in the Life' series. However, the more I got involved in the project, the more I realized that in order to give an idea of their lives, I needed to span a period of at least a year. One year led to another, and in the end, the project wasn't published until 1991. 'The Modern Maya' (Univ. of New Mexico Press) chronicles nearly twenty years in the lives of seven families that accepted me into their lives and introduced me to their communities. They shared their hopes, dreams, disappointments and triumphs. The book is the story of my friends, and a culture that produced the greatest civilization of the Americas."

Exhibición Fotográfica de Macduff Everton
El Centro Ecológico Akumal se enorgullece de recibir la exhibición del fotógrafo Macduff Everton, la cual se mostrará del 19 al 24 de marzo para conmemorar el Día Mundial del Agua, 22 de marzo.
Autobiografía:
"La primera vez que visité Yucatán fue en 1967. Regresé en 1969 con la idea de quedarme varios meses documentando la vida Maya al estilo Life Magazine 'Un día en la Vida'. Entre más me iba involucrando en el proyecto, me di cuenta que para poder documentar realmente lo que quería debía permanecer por lo menos un año. Un año llevaba a otro, y al final ese proyecto se publicó hasta 1991. 'Los Mayas Modernos', crónicas de casi 20 años en la vida de 7 familias que me aceptaron en sus vidas y me involucraron en sus comunidades. Compartieron sus esperanzas, sueños, desilusiones y triunfos. El libro, es la historia de mis amigos, y la cultura de la civilización más grande de América".

May and June – CEA will be hosting two workshops. One will be on sustainable development, targeting construction and hotel industries. The other workshop will focus on eco-tourism and its economic impact, which will target the Hotel and Tourism sectors.
